Plagiarism - not 1, but 2 !!...accidently spotted.

Well..i personally dont prefer to blog about every single dish that i prepare, or the normal regular ones we have on a daily basis...but this is unlike that. Pachadi(vegetables in yougurt sauce) is common at my place - its simple and quick.

Once had prepared Carrot Pachadi and decided to share it, coz thought its worth keeping such a recipe for those who are not aware of it...again , for its ease to prepare. Dish all made, but had no idea how it present it for the pictures.

Finally decides to give a search in google to see how others would have portrayed the same.

Couple of searches, and halted across this blog - Salt to Taste  (pic 1 below). Well was happy that this looks almost similar to the snap that i have taken. No much fuss around, simple..just the dish and the bowl. Cool !

(Pic - 1 )

Then, went onto google images, to get more ideas on the same, and thats when i came across this particular picture which looks exactly the same, but more cropped version of Pic - 1. (see Pic 2 below - the red square box on the right )

(Pic - 2)

Clicked on the link. It goes here - Indobase Recipes. (Pic 3 below)

(Pic 3)
And yes, it was a copied image and write up from the above blog -

PLAGIARISM NO.II

See Picture 2 again above. The red rectangle marked .Two images of the same dish. Of course, it could be from the same author..but just for curiosity sake, decided to check. And, they again..went to 2 different sources !!!

God !!!

Dear Readers,

I am not a regular blogger. Also, am not sure if this has already been spotted and reported..but, what i came across is just being shared. Dear Mansi of   A Cook @ Heart, Preethi of ISingcakes and Anna, i understand you  are some of the few who have been directly hit by plagiarism. I personally do not have much technical know how on how to react during such a situation. So, am linking this post to you guys as well. Hope you  will be able to help in any way possible.

I am bringing this post to the notice of the authors of the two sites - Salt to Taste and Sailu's Kitchen.

As for me, well...just gets this uncomfortable feeling seeing a regular traffic on my blog from Russia ! Very regular views. no comments, nothing. Why in the world ??? Will they follow what is written here ?

And, if this / these Russian viewers are reading this post...

Ma'am/ Sir.....Can I help you ???

  3. Yes that's true, its very sad to see our pics gets copied,The best way is to add a watermark right at the centre of the pic..I think can avoid to a large extent, but if someone is behind it you can't stop :)
Great to c u taking pain in letting the bloggers know about it,Yummy pachadi..:)

  4. It is too bad. And the worse thing is that you probably won't be able to do anything abt it too if those who copy have enough skills to get rid of even small watermarks (I have seen it). It is good that you have brought these to light.

Also, I too used to get some rather curious incoming views from Russia! Not now though.

  7. Thanks for the shoutout ... my first reaction was... here we go again! Someone is thieving, AGAIN!
    This is so maddening!
See, these plagiarists are smart, they crop images and if right click is disabled, they use sniping tool- or something like that!
I sometimes wonder, is it worth taking all the trouble of cheating, why not do your own thing?

  9. @ Chitz, Chitra, in my case, the link sources (they were not just random Russian views) had nothing to do with food or any such thing. I couldn't place where my link was placed in these pages either :)

  11. Now Russians are studying English as part of globalization, that could be the reason why there's heavy traffic....
And they are well-known for "imm---- traffic" :-)

  12. It is really sad to read this post. There are bloggers who take so much effort and time to reach out yo us with their lovely creations; whereas there are some other bloggers who just randomly lift your posts.. That too without permission or mention of source. It is very generous of you Sona to bring this particular issue up although I'm sure many might have noticed this but left it at that :-)
