Cute li'l picks for cute mini bites

At times, you end up making something, just to be using the props that you have recently purchased. True, is it not ??

One of my favourite hang out places here are the 100 fills shops; the synonym of  "Dollar stores" in the US (but....on condition. You are on a "leave me alone" mode....pleaase!!!! Defnintely not the right place to be shopping with the kids and a busy husband). Came across this cute clowny tooth picks and couldn't resist buying them.

It was our second son's birthday last week and prepared this as one of the starters for his b'day party. Something you can make in just a matter of time.

Ready to cook frozen kebabs , cut to half and wrapped in puff pastry. Baked till done...and , you are done ! My boys prefer sausages within, but i didn't have any of those in stock, so settled in for the kebabs. Great when served warm with some hummus as a side for dipping.

Have a great week ahead !

  4. Hi Sona, the toothpicks look so cute. Love kebabs too but your this kebabs with puff pastry is an excellent idea. Nice plating.

I dare not walk in to this kind of dollar shop too often, sure to come back with unnecessary things. We have the 100 yen and Daiso here everything at RM5, that's about USD 1.50.

    You working on weekend too?
Have a nice week ahead, regards.

  5. My hearty belated B-Day wishes to your sweet little one!! I;m sure he had a blast celebrating his Bday with Mommy's kebab rolls!!
The thing about dollar store is that, they are cramped and there are too many items in vicinity, so we really have to give it some time to mow into what we really want, this is one place where we purchase thing that we even don;t want :-) because it is cheaper, I did it too!! And the ready made kebab is a nice idea and it looks very inviting with the tooth pick on!

Dollar stores are fun, but not with kids running around picking at everything. That's a great find there, really like the clown toothpick and the idea.
